Restaurant
Epsilon is a green oasis in a
whitewashed 'cul de sac' in the old “Turkish Well” quarter of
town (Turkkuyusu Mahallesi). The 150 year old stone house has been
renovated and its ancient well and Mulberry Tree are one of the
few preserved in the town center. It is open year round and is an
excellent place for a peaceful lunch or quiet dinner, or even just
a chat and drink at the bar. The owners Berk and Lon choose the
background music with care. Berk is always delighted to share his
knowledge of wine, and Lon plays her flute beautifully for guests.
The “a la
carte” menu offers Turkish and international cuisine, with
pasta, salads, and vegetarian dishes often on the menu at
lunchtime. Dinner however begins Turkish style with excellent
mezes, which you get to taste before ordering! Some of the
favorite dishes are fried crab, stuffed squid, an excellent
ottoman kofte, shin of lamb on creamen aubergine (cooked as the
sultan loved it!). As the grand finale, enjoy “ Shadow of Cheops”
– soft delicious nougat. The wine menu offers a wide range of
Turkish and foreign wines. As the restaurant is also host to local
and foreign art exhibitions it is open from noon onwards.
