TOP OF THE ROCKTM
|
Is your New York bold? Is it brilliant? Is it tranquil? Is
it peaceful? Discover New York in all its forms from 70
stories up at Top of the Rock™
Observation Deck. Our
high-speed shuttle sends you racing to the sky. Our dazzling
multimedia history exhibits are a feast for the eyes and
stimulate the minds of all ages. And then there’s the view:
the city’s only crystal-clear, 360˚ experience of your New
York.
-
Take a
walk through the history of Rockefeller Center©
on our
mezzanine level! Exhibits include the original scale
model of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
-
Simulate the experience of walking on high-steel, like
the construction workers who built Rock Center. Al Roker
demonstrated it on the Today Show, now its your turn to
try not to look down as you cross the Beam-Walk!
-
We
offer three short films in our theater,
depicting stories from the Rockettes, NBC News and the
history of Rockefeller Center©.
-
Our
Sky Shuttle elevators whisk you to the Observation Deck
in a New York minute – 50 seconds! But don’t forget to
look up and enjoy the unique multimedia display on your
way to the Top.
-
Top of
the Rock is home to
two stunning installations featuring
Swarovski crystals!
Joie is a 14,000 piece crystal chandelier,
fitted with state-of-the-art fiber-optic lighting. It
was featured on the cover of
Interior Design
magazine. Radiance is a geode wall, revealing the heart
of Rockefeller Center, as conceived by German artist
Michael Hammers. Panels of hand-blown glass contain
Swarovski crystal clusters and ambient lighting. There
are several crystal animals hidden within the wall. Can
you find them all?
-
The
Observation Deck itself has 3 levels – the 67th,
69th and 70th floors. Expansive
indoor spaces and vast outdoor decks mean there is room
for everyone! Non-reflective glass panels protect you
from the wind, but don’t lock your view behind a fence.
Feel free to take your time moving between all three
levels, taking in magnificent views of New York City.
-
The
Breezeway is a marvel of interactive technology,
as the lights and sounds follow your movements
throughout the room. See what happens as you walk
towards friends and family in this ground-breaking room!
-
The 70th
floor offers unequaled, unobstructed views of New York
City. The sight of many wedding proposals, this level
may well be the most romantic place in Midtown
Manhattan.
