I
just got back from New York City on our annual Christmas
shopping weekend. My friend recommended that we
get a 48 hour pass to get around town. What a life
saver! Not only did we save a lot of money on taxis,
but just to find a taxi was a chore. This was so
convenient and reliable. The busses showed up regularly,
the most we waited was 10 minutes. The stops were
frequent - we had to walk only 1 block to get back
to our hotel. The guides were very informative.
We shopped in the morning at Macy's, went to Ground
Zero, had lunch in Chinatown, walked around Soho
and had a beautiful ride back to Times Square. The
Christmas Lights were amazing. This is THE way to
get around New York City. Note: Some of the busses
are open-top, so in the winter it can get chilly,
but there are busses that have a glass top. Try
to get one of those (we got lucky and always got
one).
