A CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TOUR |
If you want to see some of the most extravagant Christmas light
displays you'll find anywhere in the country, you need to come
to Brooklyn! Join the estimated 100,000 pilgrims that flock here
each year to cruise the neighborhood and bask in the glow of the
glorious excess. Each year, the residents of Dyker
Heights compete to have the biggest, best, and brightest
Christmas decorations. In addition to over-the-top Christmas
lights, there are large inflatable Christmas decorations,
animatronic toys and motorized displays.
"A Christmas Lights Tour of
Brooklyn" invites you to visit
the Italian-American section of Dyker Heights, made famous in
the 2001 PBS documentary "Dyker Lights" and most recently on TLC's
"Crazy Christmas Lights." You'll visit Bay Ridge,
which has also become known for their Christmas lights, and
we'll stop by one of Brooklyn's best Italian pastry shops...Mona
Lisa Pastry Shop & Cafe.
