| Public Toilets | Now that we talked about water let's talk about toilets. The USA definitely has a clean public restroom shortage! Public restrooms in the USA are usually located in public buildings and train stations, but I would not recommend using these - they are usually not too clean. My advice is to use the restrooms in your hotel, museums, shopping malls, department stores or restaurants. Use the restroom when you find a good one. However, my experience is that when I need one - I can never find one! Good luck. | |
| Health Tips | Most health risks in Colorado are related to altitude - two-thirds of our state is more than one mile above sea level! You can get easily get altitude sickness, hypothermia and sunburn. Bring your sunscreen with you. Drink lots of water. Layer your clothing in winter and stick to natural fabrics - cotton and wool - if possible. | |

FAQ Fishing Licenses
|
"Could you tell how
much the fishing license are for kids and adults and locations to fish.
We will be there in Ouray for 2 weeks and my son loves to fish." -
Cindy
Here are the requirements for the Colorado Fishing License for 2001: 1. Hunters need a Colorado Conservation Certificate (CC) to buy a license. CC's are free and available at license agents and DOW offices. Licenses are stamps that attach to the CC. Only one CC is necessary for all licenses. The CC can be reused as long as information on it is correct. 2. A fishing license is required for people 16 years or older who take fish, crustaceans, mollusks or frogs, except as noted in the 1998 Colorado Fishing Season Information brochure. 3. People collecting fish, amphibians, mollusks and crustaceans for bait or commercial sale by fishing, cast net, dip net, net, trap or seine must have a $20 commercial fishing license if done for commercial purposes. Applications are available from the DOW. Commercial fishing license holders must submit an annual report to the DOW within 30 days of the expiration of the license. 4. Children under 16 don't need a fishing license. The bag limit for youths under 16 is half the daily bag and possession limit. When the bag and possession limit is 1, anglers under 16 can take 1 fish. When half the limit results in a fraction, the limit is rounded to the next whole number. Children under 16 can take the full daily bag and possession limits if they purchase an adult fishing license. A licensed angler doesn't need to accompany a youth. 5. Licenses expire on the date printed or written on them. No license is transferable. False statements made in buying a license render it void and subject the purchaser to penalties. Lost or destroyed licenses can be replaced by buying another at a license agency or DOW office or by filling out a lost license affidavit. 6. Violations of wildlife laws have a specific point value. If a person accumulates 20 or more points in 5 years, license privileges can be suspended for up to 5 years. License Fees 1-Day: Resident $5.25 Non-Resident $5.25 5-Day: Resident $18.25 Non-Resident $18.25 Annual: Resident $20.25 Non-Resident $40.25 |
