GATEWAY CANYONS AUTOMOBILE
MUSEUM
"One of the World's Most Amazing Auto Museums" 2 FOR 1 ADMISSION
COUPON!
The Gateway Colorado
Automobile Museum is one of the finest collections of
American automobiles in existence today. With just over
forty vehicles in the privately owned Hendricks
Collection – the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum
tells the story of how the automobile impacted
society. It is an educational experience celebrating the
history, science, design and social impact of the
American car.
MUSEUM DETAILS:
The TimeLine –
The collection is arranged
in a Timeline that captures 100 years of automotive
history in America from the 1906 Cadillac Model H Coupe
to the 2006 Chip Foose Mustang Stallion. Arranged in
several galleries – one of the most awe-inspiring
realizations is that this is no ordinary auto museum.
The Galleries –
From the moment you take a
step back in time in the Open Road Theater listening to
Walter Cronkite talk about the American Automobile and
its place in society – to the brief video clip showing
the acquisition of the Auto Museum’s own $3.24 million
dollar version of the “Mona Lisa” – the 1954 Oldsmobile
F-88 Concept Car – it is obvious that it is educational,
it is historical and it is very much about the cars.
The Four themed galleries incorporate
educational, interactive displays exploring various
topics relating to the history of the American auto and
its place in our industry, pop culture and lives.
The Hendricks Collection
The Hendricks Collection, owned by John Hendricks
(founder of the Discovery Channel) and his family, and
the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum features classics
such as the 1906 Cadillac Model H Coupe, 1913 Pierce
Arrow, 1936 Supercharged Auburn, 1939 Packard
“Hollywood” Darrin, 1941 Lincoln V-12 Zephyr, plus
classics from the 1950s as well as stunning muscle cars
and customs. As you explore, you’ll discover how an
obsession with “getting there” faster, smoother and in
high style helped shape the American way of life.
See the World's only 1954 Oldsmobile F-88
Convertible Concept Car - Worth $3,240,000!
After spending decades as a collection of
parts stuffed into wooden crates – the F-88 was
reassembled. In 1954 – the F-88 was a Motorama “Dream
Car” and was one of only two – or an unconfirmed
possible three ever created. The F-88 seen here is
literally the only car left of its kind – and was sold
to John and Maureen Hendricks at the prestigious
Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona for
an unbelievable $3,240,000. This acquisition made
automotive history and is the “cornerstone” of the
Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum in its own special
room in a rotating display worthy of the F-88!

I Did It! M. Collins This was
a wonderful museum, I could of spent the whole
new years day inside. The best advise I could
give is, don't expect your typical 57 chevys and
Model T's and A's! Oh they have each but this is
really about higher-end vintage vehicles. Stutz,
Pierce-Arrow and a one of a kind Oldsmobile F-88
by Harley Earl. Check their site, cars rotate in
& out. The museum also had 3 Indian motorcycles
plus another in the Kiva Cafe next to the hotel.
If you're seeking an unusual trip, i'd check out
the museum and the Gateway Resort Hotel. It's
pretty rural and a great hide-away for Hollywood
types laying low. By the way, entrance fee is
waived if you stay at the resort, you will love
your stay there too!
