Since 1882 a
coal-fired train has been running the narrow gauge
tracks between Durango and Silverton. For decades it
carried ore back to Durango's smelter. Ride the steam
train 52 miles round trip through the San Juan National
Forest in the comfort of heated coaches. This wilderness
destination is the perfect setting for a fire-side
lunch, photo opportunities, or a walk along the Animas
River.
The train museum holds a collection of antique trains and memorabilia
that is second to none. Located in the roundhouse, this museum is a must
see for all visitors to Durango. This incredible museum is also available
for parties, weddings and other special functions. |

December 14 - 31: 10:00am Daily
(No train Thanksgiving or Christmas Days)
January 6 to March 9: 10:00am (Thursday - Saturday
only)
March 10 to April 2: 10:00am Daily
April 6 to 16: 10:00am (Wednesday - Saturday only)
April 17 to May 6: 10:00am Daily
All trains arrive back to Durango at
3pm.
