Aquarium of the Bay
is a unique

clear tunnels where

EXHIBITS INCLUDE:
- Tunnel Under The
Bay takes a scuba diver’s view of San Francisco
Bay. Two crystal clear tunnel tanks envelope you in
the breathtaking world of the seas!
The first tank, under the Near Shore you will
encounter swirling schools of anchovies; various
shark species; a rainbow of Rockfish; bright-orange
Garibaldi and the smartest animal in the Bay, Giant
Pacific Octopuses.
In the second tank, you will explore the Deep
Waters of San Francisco Bay where sharks, rays,
sturgeon and beyond soar, and nestle on the sandy
floor. Come face-to-fin with Sevengill sharks, San
Francisco Bay's largest predators, and all five
local shark species: Leopard, Soupfin, Spiny Dogfish
and Brown Smoothhound sharks.
- Sharks, Bat Rays
and Skates Touch Pool
Be the first of your friends to touch a Bat Ray,
Leopard Shark, Big Skate, Swell Shark and others!
Playful and curious they will delight you! Come
watch the rays and big skates pounce on their food
at 12:30pm daily.
- Prepare to be
mesmerized in the Aquarium's Jellies Exhibit
featuring Moon Jellies and Pacific Sea Nettles!
- Get up close and
personal with a variety of critters, participate in
hands-on science experiments and more during
naturalist-led presentations in the Bay Lab. Daily
10:15am to 6pm daily.
- The Bay Theater
hosts a full line-up of daily film programs
including Sharks! 2 award-winning shark
films; Animated Oceans animated films that
everyone in the family will enjoy; and In the
Wake of Giants, a short documentary that takes
you within close range of humpback whales.
